I know I have been writing on the Internet since 2008.
I know I have posted over a thousand posts on the web since 2008. Yes, that’s right… Over a thousand.
I know I have posted tweets and Facebook posts that have been seen by people all over the world.
Even though I have done all of those things… There’s one thought that makes me giddy.
This thought is – My published work being downloaded by people to read!
I have published several of my writings on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Goodreads, and Apple‘s iTunes – Some free and others being quite inexpensive. With these being published and available on those sites, which is quite cool in itself, the part that I absolutely love is when I see someone downloaded it to their device whether that is a Kindle, Nook, computer, or Apple device.
It doesn’t matter if the work is free or if it is one that you have to pay for (Even though seeing people actually buy my writing is amazing)… I am truly thankful for each and every download.
What blows my mind even more is that random people are downloading my work. I don’t know who is reading it. I don’t know who took the time out of their life to click the download button, wait for it to download, and then read it. I always say “time is money” – And people spending their time on my writings (even if it is free) is worth it.
I wanted to write a book for several years now, but I just didn’t know how to go about it. I was able to successfully publish Forever and the feedback I got from it blew my mind. That was a short story/novella. Now… I’m on the road to write a novel. I try to work on it every single day even if it is just a little bit. I’m hoping to have it released in 2015. I’m so excited and really looking forward to what people think of it once it is out.
Everyone has dreams. Everyone has goals they want to achieve. Well, I accomplished publishing a book. Now I am on the path of publishing a whole novel. Don’t get me wrong – Self-publishing is rough. It takes a lot of time to market yourself and to get the name out there, but the feeling of having published work is glorious! If you have a dream or goal, go ahead and pursue it no matter how strange or rough it may be. If you have enough passion for it, it will get done!
